Calculate a savings goal: find your monthly amount
A savings goal becomes real once you turn it into a monthly amount.
The simple calculation
Savings goal minus what you have saved already, divided by the number of months. Example: you want 3,000 € for a trip in 12 months and already have 600 €. That is 2,400 € divided by 12, so 200 € per month.
With interest
If there is interest, the amount gets a little smaller. Calculate cautiously and only enter interest you are sure to get. Taxes and fees are not included in the calculator.
Tips to stay on track
- Set up a standing order on payday, so the money is gone before you spend it.
- Write down the goal and put it where you can see it.
- Celebrate small milestones.
- A savings tracker you can tick off motivates many people.
