Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a recipe to another baking tin?

Compare the base areas. Area of your tin divided by area of the recipe tin gives the factor. Multiply all ingredients by this factor.

How do I calculate the area?

Round: radius times radius times 3.14 (the radius is half the diameter). Rectangular: length times width. A 26 cm springform has about 531 cm², a 30 by 20 cm tray has 600 cm².

Is the baking time still right?

Only roughly. With the same batter depth the time stays similar, with a thinner batter it gets shorter. Test with a skewer from about 10 minutes before the end.

What do I do with one egg?

With whole eggs round up or down and adjust the liquid slightly. For half an egg, whisk one egg and use half.
